Trump wants a great deal with Kim, there is no rush

Andamento del mercato - 28/02/2019

On Thursday in a short announcement before further discussions with Kim Jong Un, the U.S. President Donald Trump stated that there is no rush for North Korea to immediately scrap its nukes.

Trump said instead, that he is very happy that there was no indication that North Korea had carried out any nuclear or ballistic rocket experiments in the past year. The US president announced that "Speed is not that important to me,"  "I very much appreciate no testing of nuclear rockets, missiles, any of it — very much appreciate It."

"I am in no rush — just we don't want the testing and we've developed something very special with respect to that." The statement identified a shift in Trump's request in 2018 that North Korea must start abandoning its nuclear weapons “very, very quickly."

Rather the president of the United States on Thursday morning repeatedly emphasized that he was not trying to resolve the matter with North Korea by the end of this week's summit. Trump said "No rush. No rush. No rush. There's no rush, we just want to do the right deal. Chairman Kim and myself want to do the right deal. Speed is not important, what's important is that we do the right deal". Kim said through a translator that "it's too early to tell, but I wouldn't say that I'm pessimistic. For what I feel right now, I do have a feeling that good results will come from it." Experts over the last week have registered that Trump's situation on North Korea's nuclear weapons seemed weaker than his first position. Steve Okun, the senior advisor at US-based consulting firm McLarty Associates, said 'Until we get clear, verifiable, irreversible denuclearization, we're not going to move forward."
